If you want to be really successful at affiliate marketing you have to acquire the important skills of preselling. Preselling is giving the potential customer important information that will gain their trust in you (the affiliate marketer) and your recommendation of the product/s you are selling to them.

With affiliate marketing, if you want to build a long term stable online business. You have to create small, effective, theme focused websites and not use them just for PPC (Pay Per Click). These sites will give you long term targeted traffic from major search engines especially from Google and Yahoo, telling them that you are producing quality contents on the subject or product/s you chose.

You MUST serve the needs of your visitors, if you do then you will get quality and targeted traffic. Think like you are one of them and what would you expect as a visitor.

Sadly most people just throw up a few ads on adwords (Pay Per Cick) and then expect quick success. Then later they complain they made nothing or very little out of it.

Affiliate marketing requires you to be more involved than just trying to get traffic to your websites.

When your website/s are indexed and receiving organic traffic from major search engines or other source, then you are in a good position to implement your own pay per click campaign. This way you might get much lower bid costs, because Google can see you have a website that is indexed, that has links to it and that it has quality content. This will have a great impact on your return on investment.

This is the way I do and my method is much better and more stable than working just with pay per click. I suggest you do the same.
